Reverend April M. Martin

Rev. April M. Martin was born in Coatesville, Pa. and attended Coatesville Area Senior High school graduating with honors. She graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. While at West Chester, she serviced as President of the Black Student Union and spent many days in Harrisburg lobbying for increased financial aid for students.   After working in accounting at Mobil Oil Corporation as a Supervisor in the Accounting Department, she went back to school and received a degree in Nursing. Rev. April Martin graduated as the Salutatorian and is a licensed Registered Nurse.

 

Rev. April M. Martin, is the mother of John Joshua and Christian William.  She is a sister, an aunt and a friend.

 

Currently, Rev. Martin is the Clinical Admissions Coordinator for Coram Home Infusion. She travels to hospitals all over the TriState area educating Physicians, Social Workers, Discharges planners on Medicare and Commercial insurance regulations for Home Infusion.  She serves as the Health Commissioner for the West Mainline District of the Philadelphia Annual Conference of the First Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

 

Prior to accepting her call to the Ministry, Rev. Martin served at Bethel AME Church Downingtown for 22 years.  During that time she worked in Church School serving as Superintendent for many years.  She also faithfully served as a Steward, guarding, preserving and promoting the Kingdom of God in that vineyard.  She then spent time at Calvary AME Church in Philadelphia assisting the ministry work there.

 

Rev. April M. Martin answered her call to the Preached Word Ministry in 2003.  She attended and graduated from Biblical Theological Seminary in 2008 in Hatfield, Pa with a Masters in Divinity.  She received her final ordination as an Itinerate Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in 2009 under the hand of Bishop Richard Franklin Norris. 

 

She is a member of the Upper Mainline Ministerium and The Mainline Black Interdenominational Ministers Alliance.

 

She was assigned as Pastor of Mt. Zion AME Church, West Mainline District, July of 2009 where the Lord has prepared her for this, “Good Work.”
